SAM Spotlight~

SAM Spotlight was held at college last Friday and it was a hell lot of FUN~
Theme of the event: Sleek and Shimmer. but i had nothing like that in my closet.
I was really excited to attend SAM Spotlight because Joseph Germani was invited to it!
At first , a week or two before, when Hy asked me whether i wanted to go, i was reluctant, maybe on that particular day, i wasnt only a cheerful mode or something.
but a few days before the event, i was talking about it with Yong Xuan, I was like, i should go!
then just until two days before the event only we found out that Joseph Germani, Jeremy Teo (Red FM deejay) and Reuben Kang was invited to attend the event!

although i couldnt compare the amount of ppl who attended to other college events but i could see that there wasnt much ppl.

 the brave girl. though i could see she was really uncomfortable in those heels.

Yong Xuan and I were so excited to see him and i actually him once i entered college i was like, *stare*.

They showed us a preview of JinnyboyTV's new video called Class Clown, you can go search for it on Youtube.

other that them, there was other band performances. and everyone was screaming and shouting and singing along to all the songs.

there were songs like Payphone, We Are Young, What Makes You Beautiful and a few others.

all the performances ended and the dance floor was open to everyone and we were jumping and singing along to all the songs. and suddenly, i turned and saw that Joseph came into the hall again to join the party!

and i was like, I NEED TO TAKE A PHOTO WITH HIM.

so Hy unnie helped me take the photo. and i made YongXuan jealous with it. XD

she went back early, so... too bad. hehehe.

 we left at around 11pm? i dont rmb.

but when we were leaving, they started playing a Black Eye Peas song and i wanted go join in the party again. hehe.

tell you guys one funny story. we were taking our group shot WITH A POLAROID  CAMERA, and this random guy came moon-walking into the frame and photobombed us!

i saw him before was going to do it, i wanted to shout at him to stop but it was too loud inside the hall.

so he made a group of girls mad. not his lucky day i guess.

and after that, when i went to get some food for myself and the other girls to eat, i met him again and he talked to me and said i was taking a lot of food (he talked with an accent), and I said i was taking them for my friends and he said he was my friend and asked whether i could give him a piece and i was like, NO NO NO, you're not my friend. and he said i was mean. I didnt know why i said that though, i'm normally not a person like that. maybe it was his accent that made me act like that. hehe.

that's all for now. it's alr 2.45am. need sleep. tmr still need to wake up for church and i need to study for semester exams. sigh. 

i'll blog more tmr if i have the time. I have things planned out to blog about but i just dont have the time.

Everyone Is Beautiful

Watch this video and you'll know what it has to do with the title of this post.
So in short, this video is just a preview of an American girl's documentary on Korean High School.
Their culture and the education system.
the first half of this video is about the education system. I never knew that their middle school classes end at 3.30pm or 4.30pm and their high school classes end at 9PM! but maybe because this particular school is an international school and all students lives in dorms. but 9pm is too much. 
the girl asked one korean about her hobby, and she said there was nothing much to do outside school and once she gets back to her dorm, she studies again. what a boring life!
so she stated at the beginning that some korean students actually study for 16 hours a day. crazy right? that means they only sleep for like, 4 or 5 hours a day?
and many students commit suicide due to the pressure they receive from their parents and also due to their own expectations. I wonder how their parents can deal with the fact that their child killed themselves because of them pushing them too hard, just to get good academic results.

and the other half of the video was about beauty and self-esteem. which is also a factor of students committing suicide.
everyone knows how popular plastic surgery is in Korea right? and maybe also because the school she did the documentary at was a girls' school so almost half the class wanted to get plastic surgery.
korean just have the perspective that skinny, fair skin and big eyes is the only way a girl is considered to be beautiful. okay, mayb not only in Korea but almost all around Asia.
but dont these girls know something called "make-up"???
yeah, maybe it wont make your nose look higher but still.
So, this American girl suggest that these korean girls need to have an icon or someone to look up to who doesnt have big eyes, fair skin, tall and skinny, so that they can change their perspective on "beauty".
I thought about this for a while and i think the best way to solve this problem is to ask all the members of male idol groups in Korea to state that their ideal type is a girl with small eyes, someone who isnt skinny or have fair skin. This would definitely help a lot.
all in all, girls will always be girls, they are never satisfied with their appearance.
Most importantly, we all need good ppl around us, friends and family, to make us feel beautiful.
Society will always be judging us, it just depends on whether we choose to care or not.
lastly, EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL IN THEIR OWN WAY. please dont go change how you look just because society tells you so.

wow it has been some time since i updated. I've been busy, as always, i use this excuse. hehe
it's just that i've been watching k-dramas whenever i had the time, and also The Vampire Diaries (which aired it's season finale today) and The Secret Circle. Plus, not much has been happening in life, so didnt have the mood to blog.
but here are some long due photos starting from my April holidays until recent. so there's quite a lot of them.
and a bit about today, college had a teacher's day celebration so we had an accelerated class schedule so class ended early by one hour! Yong Xuan and I then went to Asia Cafe for lunch. I keep telling myself that i need to try out food from the stalls i havent tried before but i went back to eating indian food again. I just cant resist spicy yummy food~
and Yong Xuan was such a sweet potato, she actually left her phone at The Web and totally didnt notice her phone was missing until she finished eating. aigoo.... XD
Once i got back to the room, i watched the season finale of Vamp Diaries! it was... awesome as always. hate the fact that i need till Fall for season 4. it's gonna be really different and exciting!

my love for puzzles~ I finished it in 1 or 2 hours i think. I just love doing puzzles.

but i dont have the time. just like reading, i love reading, but i dont have the time. sad truth.

 I forgot the exact date we went bowling but it wasnt fun becoz  my strikes were stolen by Fangyuan. hmph!

hahaha just kidding, it was the machine's fault.

i had fun though. i love bowling. i miss going bowling with Dominic they all.

 and I went for Thai food at Siam House! Sara was so nice to belanja since she just received her salary!

a big thanks to her! 

and the Red Ruby dessert is a must when we go eat Thai food, it's our family's favourite dessert!

so must bigger a bowl than the one i had at Sunway Pyramid! and so much yummier too!

 i love my hair like this! but i dunno what i did to make it look like that. T_T

And i braided my fringe as it was too long. i should really go for a haircut during the next holiday.

 and for no reason, i felt like organizing my piano sheets.

i printed so much but only know how to play a few of the songs.

and now i dont have the chance to play anymore. :( I miss my piano.

 and this photo was for the form for leveling up at Beast's official fan cafe.

but i dont know whether i leveled up or not becoz i dont think i received an email from them. T_T

it was so hard as i dont understand much of korean. i want to learn lar....

 and I went for Starbucks' happy hour promotion to get 50% of fraps~

the first time i went, i tried out the new flavour, Chocolate Cookie Cream but it okay.

so the next time i went, i ordered Java Chip~~~ i want to drink more but broke ady. 

 and the last time we went to Pyramid, Hy and I bought facial masks from Etude House which were on SALE! and also nail polish removers.

 and i finally bought a new pair of ballet flats after wearing my old ones for more than one year.

but these shoes give my feet really bad blisters. dont feel like wearing them anymore, but they are so pretty~

plus i spent so much time choosing a pair to buy. 

 and a new water bottle~~~ in fuchsia/pink~ love the colour so much~

 and the other day, Chunting they are were so nice to invite us over to their hostel's bbq party.

 Chunting and I. =) she is so fair omg.

 after that, Chunting belanja us Chatime as she won money from the games they played  at the party~ there was a promotion going on. 

one day, Hy and I went to Secret Recipe for lunch! had fish and chips~ I want to eat a nice yummy plate of chicken chop now!

 and this was taken during the holidays though.

Mummy brought us to the newly opened KSL Resorts which is KSL's hotel, for a free buffet lunch!

they had such a big range and variety of food! when i went there, i was like, WOAH! SO MUCH YUMMY-NESS! and the above photo is the spaghetti ate. there was a cook to personally cook it for you on the spot! and the price for the buffet isnt expensive compared to other hotels', so i definitely recommend it to you guys, if you want to have a buffet for any functions~

 and my favourite -- DESSERTS! they had so much desserts~ from malay kuih to cheese cakes and a chocolate fountain! when i saw the chocolate fountain, i was like, I MUST EAT ALL OF THOSE STRAWBERRIES!!!

and that day, i put too much hair product in my hair so it looked scrunchy. urgh.

 they look so yummy right? they are yummy. i ate all of these!

 and all of these. i was so full.

these are the stuff i bought during my last trip to Singapore.

I kept wanting to buy a clay mask without knowing what it really was. LOL and after i bought Freeman's Avocado clay mask, i finally found out what a clay mask was like, and guess what? I alr have two different types of clay masks at home. i never knew those were clay mask. such a fail right?

both my clay mask at home didnt state on the bottle that they were clay masks, so how would i have known?! but luckily this Freeman's mask work so much better than the ones i alr have btw. now i need to find a way to finish using the ones i originally had. sigh.

and i bought Neutrogena's Dry Touch Sunblock. which i did some research on. It was the most recommended sunblock for oily skin. and after i used it, it really does work well!

but the only thing i hate is that it had a really strong smell of those typical sunblock which i dont like!

and another cream for acne.
