The Last Day of 19

Okay, it's 12.30am on the 29th of September 2014. I'm listening to Yellowcard's Acoustic Album (LOVE IT!) and I'm allowing myself 30 minutes to finish this post and go to sleep as I need to wake up at 7.30am for my 9am lecture later (I MUST NOT BE LATE!). I don't want to leave this post till later because I know I won't have time so LET'S DO THIS!

It's still 29th of September... 10.15pm. Need to end this before midnight or else it'll lose it's purpose. I'm like multi-tasking at the moment (painted my nails and waiting for them to dry, and watching youtube videos rn). I knew I wouldn't have time to blog today but I had to go to sleep ytd....
Anyway, let's do this!

This is yet another post where I dump all my photos and just talk about what I've been up to recently. I probably would have a lot to sayyyy..... because I'm very long-winded.....

I kinda talked about this day in my last post (or the post before?). The 11th of September - the day I went for my interview at John Lewis and got the job! I will be starting the job on the 12th of Oct! I'm very excited and very scared at the same time. Fingers crossed that I'll enjoy the job~
And yes, after the interview I went to Oxford Street because I needed to buy a new bag and I did! Don't have a photo of the bag though, it's just a simple black tote bag that I can carry everything I need on a daily basis around with me (which is a lot of stuff!).
Besides the bag, I also got myself a big burrito and a bag of tortilla chips! I had a voucher for Chipotle's so why not. I ordered the chips just for the guac kekeke

And here you can see me enjoying my meal with Jo Insung/ Jang Jaeyeol.
I rarely watch Korean dramas anymore because after Heirs last year, I lost interest in them.... Watching Heirs till the end was probably one of my biggest regrets XD
But It's Okay, It's Love reignited my love for k-dramas. It's not that kind of typical k-dramas - there was one (?) slap given, one car accident and no one chased buses. They did splash each other with wine though. LOL
The relationship between the main characters was just so mature, which is refreshing for a k-drama. And the catch phrase for this show: 딱 좋아!

If you follow me on twitter, you would have alr seen this photo~ I dunno why I decided to post a before and after photo.... I was just bored on the tube to Heathrow Airport. I guess I wanted people to know I dont wake up looking like this?
But yeah... I signed up to do this job for Queen Mary where I just stand around Terminal 3 of Heathrow with a sign saying "Queen Mary University of London" and gather students tgt to get on coaches to get back to campus. It was a boring job but it was nice getting to meet so many people! And it was good money. LOL I met this other Msian guy (a fellow airport collection staff) who lived his whole life in England (but he goes back to Msia sometimes) that just couldn't stop talking.

I did the job for two nights, this was the second night.... It was so boring (coz it was Sunday). I only manage to collect one student from Terminal 3 which was a guy from Singapore. And I was standing at this same position for more than 4 hours!!!!

After that job, I signed up to be a Student Ambassador for the School of Business and Management!
Most of the ambassadors actually signed up earlier through email but for me, I went into uni on Monday (for some admin stuff) and I saw these friends of mine and decided to go ask them about their job and then the guy who is incharge of hiring ambassadors, James, came around while I was there and so I asked him if he needed an extra hand and he said he did! The main reason I wanted the job was because they were paying good money kekekeke
The job was super easy. I spent most of my time just talking to people (fellow ambassadors and other students). Our main role was to gather students together and get them to their social event in a pub/cafe that the school has prepared for them. The venue was really nice! and they offered each of us one free drink and lots of free finger food! We manage to get more free drinks though kekeke

I worked for only 2 days - the first was for the first years' social and the second was for the postgrads' social. In between those two days was the second years' social! So here is a photo of the day of our social event~ Everyone was there mainly for the food though LOL Every time the waitress came around with food, everyone's attention just turned to the platter of food kekeke
And of course, we got to catch up a bit with friends and talk a bit with our lecturers.
Because of my role as the ambassador, I had to go to this place, The Proud Archivist, three days in a row! and got free drinks 3 days in row!

fyi, i didnt take this photo. It was our photographer for the event.
this is James btw >___<  I just wanted to post a photo of him. He's just one of the nicest people ever.
And he's so smiley all the time (charmingly smiley kekeke)
The first reaction from most of the females that got to know him over this week when they knew that he was married was like, "awww :(" kekekekeke

Another sneaky shot of him kekeke

And there was a "photobooth" which wasnt really a photobooth. Just our photographer taking photos of us which wasn't as fun as I expected it to be.

This is the view of when you look out from the second floor of the venue!
It's right next to the canal and it's so niceeee

The interior was really nice too~

Phuong lost her phone (iPhone 5) that day and it freaked all of us out. That day, we stayed at the social till 9pm after like 3 drinks each and went back to uni just to look for it but it wasn't there! But thankfully she found it a few days later. Can you imagine that? Someone found her phone on the tube and handed it in to lost and found!!!

On the day of the postgrads' social, we (ambassadors) actually weren't required to stay back at the venue, we could just go home after we brought the students to the venue. But we decided to hang around (for drinks and food, of course LOL). There was an art exhibition going on at The Proud Archivist, so Renita and I went to check it out~
The name of the art exhibition was called Papercut.

I sent this photo to my bro and said that this was a present for him and he thought I really bought it for him.

How cute~?

All the 3D stuff were amazing!

On this art piece, the words cut out on it are....
"COUNTLESS MOONS CIRCLE COUNTLESS PLANETS...
AND COUNTLESS PLANETS CIRCLE COUNTLESS STARS....
STARS AND GALAXIES ROTATE ETERNALLY
AND YOU AND I CIRCLE EACH OTHER FOR YOU
ARE MY UNIVERSE ENTIRELY AND I
WILL ALWAYS BE YOURS."
I love it. I wish I can have it in my future house which I hopefully would be living with someone I can share this message with.

These are just amazing. The colours are so nice as well.

That day I stayed at the venue until around 7pm. I wanted to go home earlier and I didnt want to have any drinks but I just started talking to people, one after another and the time just flew by. And a friend of mine, Jason, who was probably a bit tipsy that night got me a glass of red wine so I stayed till I finished my drink. And I met a few new ppl that night, all postgrads. A girl from Indonesia and a guy from Cambodia. Apparently, there are very very very few Cambodians studying in London.
Because I worked in a Thai restaurant, I thought he was Thai because of his accent. LOL

After that wild week, it was time to really go back to uni again. After our first day of lectures, the girls and I went to have Korean food for lunch near Tottenham Court Road, I can't rmb the name of the restaurant eeek
But when we got there, it wasn't opened yet so we went over to Starbucks, to just sit and wait LOL
Finally reunited with Sue after the whole summer~

With the sweetest and dearest~

FOOOOOOOD
We love our poultry

Somehow after all that food, we were still hungry so we went to Bobajam (is that how it's spelt? I can't bother googling now) for desserts~

kekekeke Sue can never see this here!

it wasnt very tasty thoughhhhh... :(

rabbit teeth kekekekeke

Thanks to Phuong for taking a nice photo~ and Nia for holding up the fork because Sue said cutleries in photos make that food look more appetising LOL

The next day~ We had our Microeconomics lecture which was 2 hour long and everyone that has experience a 2-hour lecture would know how that feels like.
and Nia was bored so she drew this Queen Mary's logo) on my hand.
After the both of us worked on campus and for Queen Mary, our affection for our uni has increased.
Our uni really puts in a lot of effort to offer the best experience for every student.

The next day, as Nia had a 20% voucher for the uni's shop, we went to buy some merchandises!
I wear this to sleep because it so comfy and too baggy kekeke (and it's XS)

I've been wanting to get one of these hoodies for a year now but they're normally quite expensive so thankfully I could get a discount thanks to Nia~
It's so warm and so comfy and I want to wear it all the time but the weather has been weird lately.

This was last thursday I think. I dunno why but I was very tired for no reason and I just wanted to curl up in bed but I didnt feel like sleeping just yet so I watched videos and shows in bed.
My room was in such a mess that day.

I've read all the other Rainbow Rowell books (Attachments, Fangirl, Elearnor and Park) and this one, Landline, is probably my favourite. I haven't finished reading it yet but normally once I start reading it, it's hard for me to stop! Fangirl and Eleanor and Park seem to be the more popular books of hers but I personally love Attachments and Landline more because of the more mature relationships of the characters (nothing PG rated or anything!) but it's just.... I don't know.... more dimensional? I'm not good with describing books (or anything, really)
But this is Rowell's latest book and if you get the chance, read it! I reserved this at my local library and had to wait almost for a month for it! But the wait was so worth it.

Then on Friday, because I had nothing better to do and I got really sick of reading about Microeconomics, I decided to go out!

The weather was beautiful! The Malaysia Night 2014 was happening at Trafalgar Square that day and I decided to go check it out because I missed it last year.
I went there mainly for the food tbh.
I actually saw one or two people from Taylor's but I acted like I didn't know them LOL. I've only seen them on campus before so.... I didn't want to say hi........... *awkward*

I was supposed to go to Roti King (the restaurant in Euston) ytd but it's not open on Sundays... boohoo

My bowl of laksa! Probably not worth the price I paid for it but whatever, it was yummy.
but ughhh the tofu soaked with all the goodness of the laksa gravy~~~~

Some there were two asian stores that set up tents and sold some Malaysian stuff so I went and spent my money on these~~~ The laksa paste and the curry paste are for my friends and the Nyonya Sambal and Asam Pedas sauce is for me~~~ Cant wait to taste the spiciness of these!
And I bought serai because I'm going to cook Devil Curry tmr~~
And my godma's grandson who is coming to London tmr (he'll be studying in QM too~) is bringing me more curry paste! kekekeke I need to use these sparingly.

And yesterday, I met up with Auntie Veronica and went to Oxford Street again. We always go there because she always has shopping to do.
This is a small lane tuck behind Oxford Street~

COS on Regent Street~ We walked a lot yesterday. But I was really happy to walk around with her because I love window shopping on Oxford Street~ and also because she bought me my bday present! which I will show post photos of in my next post. I've alr started using these presents today because I just loveeee them. >_<

Because Veronica will be going to the States soon, she had to get a new suitcase and a lot of presents for her family over there so this is just a £20 suitcase from Primark but the stuff inside it is what is important hahaha

And I mentioned above, we planned to go to for Msian food ytd but because the place wasn't open on Sundays, we went to Busaba Eathai instead which was so good.

Our glorious table of food!!! and my virgin grapefruit mojito that had mint and chilli in it was good!
Maybe it wasn't the best Thai food I've eaten but it was a nice meal~
Any spicy meal would make me happy tbh LOL

That's it for now. 11.32pm.
I still have some stuff I need to do and prepare for tmr before I head to bed.
Thankfully my lecture is at noon tmr but I have lots of stuff to do tmr~ which I'm so excited about!
I need to make some important calls in the morning (get the annoying stuff out of the way first), then i'll probably just get ready (which I normally spend a long time doing)... what else?
And I need to go to Sainsbury to buy chicken and potatoes.
And then it'll probably be time to head to my lecture.
And my godma's grandson would probably want to meet up for a bit... and then I need to head to Phuong's to blend stuff, coz I don't have a blender and then head over to Sue's for our celebratory dinner tgt~ I'll finally get to get rid of that bottle of champagne in my fridge. If I forget that tmr, I would hate myself. Or i'll just drink it all by myself. LOL (Just joking)

P/S: After I read through my last post again then only I realised that I didn't mention anything about my family. While I was helping out at the airport, I saw so many people meeting up with their friends and family when they got to arrivals and how some students came with their parents and I just started imagining how it would be like when I meet my family again (probably in two years' time). But tbh, I don't feel homesick that much, sometimes not at all. And when people hear that about me, they go, "Really?" and somehow think I'm lying but I'm not. Well... there are days where I wish I could be at home with my mum but most of time, that's not the case. But everyone's different and... I don't know why I'm highlighting this but.... I guess it just popped in my head.
