Easter Adventure Day 7: Part 2

Continuing from Part 1.... this will be the last post of my Easter Adventure (how sad...).
After visiting the Atomium, we took the Metro and headed to see the headquarters of the European Commission!

This is the headquarters and the building is called Berlaymont building~
How different is this view from the view of the historic city centre...

The Statue of Europe. Joon Tian was looking forward to see this but it was smaller than we expected it to be lol

Our next stop was the Parlamentarium!

LOL at this photo kekeke
There was a photobooth with a few backgrounds to choose from and it was free! After taking the photo, you enter your email address and they'll send you the photo you took!
And people you know me know that I rarely ever tie my hair up (coz i don't like to) but the wind was so strong that day that it was a challenge to walk in the open air without my hair tied up.

It was free to enter the Parlamentarium and there was so much information to absorb in their galleries of photos and videos. We spent quite a lot of time in there up till the point where we just couldn't take in anymore info and was too tired to continue on. There was a point where I was actually falling asleep while watching a video while sat in a comfy sofa.

Then after exiting from those galleries of information, there was this small fashion exhibition  of some very quirky designs.

After that, we headed to the park nearby which is called Parc du Cinquantenaire.

You can see the arch in the distance.

Brussels' Military Museum.
The wind was so strong and it was cold.
I think building is Auto World.
All the locals out to enjoy their weekend~
Look at this pretty roundabout!
After walking through the park and taking lots of photos of the arch and the buildings surrounding it, we walked to the nearest Metro station and headed back to the city centre to look for some souvenirs and chocolates to buy~

Then we saw the Manneken Pis statue has a new #OOTD! LOL

After we bought our souvenirs (I bought chocolates and some postcards), we headed back to our apartment to grab our luggage and drop our keys to the apartment and headed to the train station to take a train to the airport to fly back to London~
We had our dinner at the airport and chilled a bit while we waited to board our flight.
Our flight back to Heathrow was very smooth but the tube journey back to my place was not because when we got to Hammersmith station to change to the Hammersmith and City Line, there was a sign that said the last train has left, so we panicked and had to take the Circle or the Metropolitan line instead but on the tube I googled to make sure the tubes were still running and the H&C line was still running! So that sign about the last train was so misleading! But we made it back safe and sound anyway.

Overall, I had a great time over those 7 days of our trip~ I love all the cities that we visited and saw so many amazing buildings and architecture. It was such a relaxed trip as well, like although we didnt really spend a lot of time in each city but we still managed to truly experience and enjoy them. Both Amsterdam and Brussels are bigger and more well-known cities that a lot of people visit but I will strongly suggest everyone to pay a visit to the smaller towns in Belgium like Antwerp and Bruges because they are true beauties. I left both cities with really good impressions of them. Plus, the accommodations we stayed at through out our trip were so nice (and affordable) as well~ I would definitely use Airbnb the next time I travel and would recommend everyone to use it! Here's a link to get £13 off your next stay! I wish everyone else can share their link with me, so that I can use it too~ LOL

Okay so that's the end of my series of posts of my Easter Adventures! Can't wait to start uploading my other photos~

Easter Adventure Day 7

This post will be Part 1 of our last day of our Easter Adventure. Since our flight wasn't until later at night so we kinda still had a full day to do some sight-seeing. We decided to leave the city centre and visit another area of Brussels.

The beginning of the last day of this wonderful trip started with us walking in the rain (with umbrellas) to the nearest Metro station and made our way to Heizel station in order to get to the Atomium.

There it is! The famous Atomium~
We got there a bit before their opening time so we had to wait a bit in the rain before being able to buy our tickets.
Once we got in, we got in a lift to get this this viewing platform~
We were looking down at Mini Europe, another tourist attraction.
Can you spot the miniature Eiffel Tower?

I'm guessing that building in the middle of the photo (furthest away) is the Palace of Justice.

Such a cool escalator~~~
The Atomium was a really unique place to visit. There wasn't much to see inside it aside from the amazing 360 degree view you get of Brussels. But the structure and architecture of it is definitely worth a trip over to see and experience.
